Re-opening on June 21st, 2021
We are thrilled to announce that the Canmore Public Library will be opening its doors to the public once again on Monday June 21, 2021.
We will continue to operate with new temporary hours:
Monday: 10am-5pm
Tuesday: 10am - 8pm
Wednesday: 10am-5pm
Thursday: 10am - 8pm
Friday: 10am-5pm
Saturday: 10am-5pm
Sunday: Closed
Under Stage 2 of the Alberta Government's Open for Summer reopening plan, masks continue to be mandatory for anyone entering the building. For the safety of all library users please remember to wear a mask that covers both your mouth and nose at all times during your visit. Masks will be provided to those that don’t have one.
For those wanting to pick up books who are unable to wear a mask, curbside pickup services are still available with reduced hours by appointment only. Visit the Calendar of Events page on our website to view available dates and times.
*Limited Capacity:
- Public Libraries are able to operate at 30% capacity.
- We will have a very limited amount of public seating available in order to comply with this restriction.
*Browsing Available:
- We are so excited to announce that the stacks will be open and available for browsing!
- We do ask that due to limited capacity you don't linger too long as there may be patrons waiting to enter the library.
*Computers and Photocopying:
- Time on computers will be one 30 minute session a day.
- Not all computer stations will be available for use. Available stations will be spaced to ensure physical distancing.
- All computer stations will be sanitized after each use—please be patient.
- Printing, photocopying and scanning services are available. Remember to bring your own USB stick if you want to scan or save any documents.
*Returned Materials:
- All materials returned to the Library will be quarantined for at least 1 day before being checked in. Any fines that accrue during quarantine will be waived until further notice.
- All materials should be returned in the book drop before entering the building. If you have an item that will not fit in the book drop please bring it in to the Library and place in the return bin located inside the main doors.
