Banff Canmore Community Foundation

The Canmore Public Library is proud to be a partner of the Banff Canmore Communty Foundation.

The Banff Canmore Community Foundation believes that communities thrive when people are valued and feel like they ‘belong’ and can fit in. Community foundations are in a unique position of trust and possibility. We sit at the intersection of wealth and poverty; of doors open to possibility and small windows that may be closing; we see boundless opportunity on one side and significant barriers on the other. We are a hinge, a connector, and a believer in the power of inclusion.

By working with our philanthropic partners (including our donors, volunteers, local front line service agencies), we help people; programs and priorities find project funding.

Our signature grants program annually supports the community in the areas of: Arts, Education, Environment, Health, Heritage, Recreation and Social Services; the foundation scholarship programs help individuals move in the direction of their dreams; our currency is based in philanthropy and our greatest assets are the people who understand the power of community investment.

In the summer of 2015, the Banff Canmore Community Foundation officially changed its name and the geographic region served to include: Banff, Canmore and surrounding areas. Looking at our listing of grants through the years, we are already supporting the communities from Lake Louise to Exshaw, with outreach into Kananaskis and Morley. We plan to continue our work, build our community knowledge and expand our services across the expanded region.

By engaging others in conversations, we celebrate, recognize and thank all who choose to make a difference by giving through the foundation. Your community makes YOU. And YOU make your community.
