Library Account Help

Visit the library catalogue at tracpac.ab.ca and login using the barcode number from your library card and your PIN.

Items may be renewed up to two times, as long as there are no holds on the items. Items may be renewed in person, by phone, or online.

You can search for books, DVDs, audiobooks, video games, and more using the online library catalogue, called TRACpac.

Holds may be placed in person, by phone, or online.

Your PIN/Password is the last 4 digits of your phone number, unless you have changed it. If you are unsure of your PIN/Password, click the I forgot my password link in TRACpac, or give us a call.

If the library material you want to borrow isn't available through the library's online catalogue, you can request material to be brought in from outside of the TRAC system.

Search for and place holds on materials from any participating Alberta public or academic library with the Relais D2D Inter-Library Loan service.

Log in with your Canmore Public Library barcode number and PIN to place a request. You can have up to 10 active requests at one time.

We are not able to borrow electronic resources or items from out of province.

During regular opening hours, you are welcome to place your items in the returns bin located at the front of the library. For after hours returns, please use the book drop located on the ramp to the main entrance of Elevation Place.

As of January 2024, the Canmore Public Library has gone overdue fine free! Returning an item past it's due date does not result in overdue fines, as long as the item is returned in good condition.

If an item on your account is past it's due date, we'll send you reminder notices that you have an overdue item. If an item reaches 31 days past a final due date, it will be noted as ‘lost’ and a replacement fee will be posted to your account. When the item is returned, and it is in good condition we will automatically remove the charge.

Any account with lost or damage charges of $10.00 or more will lose access to their account until the fines are paid.

Please contact us right away to prevent any unnecessary charges being applied to your account. If you damage a book, please do not attempt to fix it yourself. If it is fixable, our specially trained staff will take care of it.  Items that are beyond repair may be charged to the borrower's account.

If you are unable to renew a book online that still has renewals remaining, it is most likely because that book is on hold for another patron. Books that fill a hold for someone else cannot be renewed. It is also possible that your library card has expired and that is preventing you from renewing your book. If your account has expired, visit us in the library or give us a call to renew your membership.
