Proof of residency is required. Using Your Library Please remember to bring your library card with you each time you visit the Canmore Public Library. If you forget, staff will accept alternate ID. Up to 50 items may be borrowed on each library card (borrowing restrictions apply to temporary and Banff Guest cards). Loan Period All items including videos, DVDs, audio books and music CDs may be borrowed for 3 weeks. In special circumstances, an extended loan period may be requested. Please inform staff if you need an extended loan period when you check the items out. Renewals You may renew any items that are not on hold for someone else, in person, by phone or online at www.tracpac.ab.ca/. Library materials may be renewed a maximum of two times. Reserves/Holds/Interlibrary Loans Library materials which are not available when you visit, or materials that are not owned by our library, may be reserved in person or online at www.tracpac.ab.ca/. Once the requested item arrives, it will be held for a period of 10 days, after which the hold will be cancelled. Overdues Fines are assessed at a rate of 10 cents per item per day. Fines will be charged up to a maximum of $4 for an adult item, $2 for a children's item, or $10 per family/per card. Returns Library materials may be returned during regular library hours or through our 24-hour book drop, which is located on the alley (south) side of the building. Internet Access Nine computers with Internet access are available for public use. Library membership is not required, but all children under 15 require a signed parental permission slip prior to use. Half-hour appointments may be booked up to one week in advance. Internet used is free and printing costs 25 cents per page. Wireless service is also available. Room Rentals The Library has two spaces available for renting. Please contact Michelle Preston at 678-2468 for bookings. | Payment of the rental fee and damage deposit is required one week prior to the event. Cheques can be made payable to the Canmore Public Library.
Videoconferencing equipment is available for use in the Meeting Room.
A deposit of $100 is required and should be a separate cheque that will be destroyed following an inspection of the space after the event.If cancelling this booking, you are required to give the Library 48 hours notice. Bookings cancelled less than 48 hours before the event are subject to a cancellation fee of $25.
