Bow Valley Literacy Program

The Bow Valley Literacy Program is a volunteer tutoring program serving the Bow Valley since 1987.  The program is hosted by the Bow Valley Learning Council and funded by Alberta Advanced Education.

Volunteer literacy tutors meet weekly with a learning partner, from September to June, in the Canmore Public Library.

Learners are enabled to improve reading, writing and oral English skills.  Families are encouraged to bring children to library programs such as Books for Babies, Wiggle Time, Tales for Twos, the Preschool Drop-In Storytime and the Summer Reading Program.

If you enjoy reading and helping others, please join us.  The coordinator, Madeline Crilley, is available Mondays and Tuesdays 9-3 pm. in the Canmore Public Library.  Our goal is to continue to serve the needs of adult learners and their children.
