Donate Books and Materials

The library accepts donations of new and gently used books, cds and dvds which may be added to the collection if they meet our collection guidelines and selection policy.  If they are not added to the collection, they will be sold in one of the three annual book sales organized by the Friends of the Canmore Library.  The proceeds from these booksales are used to enhance the Library's collection, programs and/or services.

Please note that due to storage space constraints there are some materials that we do not accept.  Items we do not accept are: textbooks, reader's digest condensed books, old encyclopedia sets and any material that is in poor condition. 

Materials can be dropped off at the library year round during regular library hours.  If you have a large donation please call ahead to alert library staff.  If you have any questions please contact the library at 403-678-2468. 

Sorry we do not issue tax receipts for material donations.

Adopt-a-Magazine Program

Individuals or local businesses can donate all or a portion of the subscription cost for one or more magazines currenlty in the library collection, or suggest a new title for consideration.  Donors will receive a tax receipt and be acknowledged on cover of the current issue on display in the library.  For a list of current titles or more information please contact library staff.

Monetary Support

Cash donations can be made to the Library directly or through The Friends of the Canmore Library Society which also accepts donations on behalf of the Library.  Tax receipts are available for all cash donations.
