Using Your Library

Please remember to bring your library card with you each time you visit the Canmore Public Library. If you forget, staff will accept alternate ID.

Loan Period
Up to 50 items may be borrowed on each library card. All items including videos, DVDs, audio books and music CDs may be borrowed for 3 weeks. In special circumstances, an extended loan period my by requested. Please inform staff if you need an extended loan period when you check the items out.

Renewals
You may renew any items that are not on hold for someone else, in person, by phone or online at www.tracpac.ab.ca. Library materials my be renewed a maximum of 2 times.

Reserves/ Holds/ Interlibrary Loans
Library materials which are not available when you visit, or materials that are not owned by our library may be reserved in person or online at www.tracpac.ab.ca. Once the requested item arrives it will be held for a period of 10 days, after which the hold will be cancelled.

Overdues
Fines are assessed at a rate of 10 cents per item per day. Fines will be charged up to a maximum of $4 for an adult item, $2 for a children's item, or $10 per family/per card.

Returns
Library materials may be returned during regular library hours or through our 24-hour book drop.

Internet Access
7 computers with Internet access are available for public use. Library membership is not required, but all children under 15 require a signed parental permission slip prior to use. Half-hour appointments may be booked up to one week in advance, and printing costs 25 cents per page.

Marigold Library System

The Canmore Public Library is a member of the Marigold Library System, The Regional Automation Consortium (TRAC), and The Alberta Library (TAL). Membership in these organizations allows our members to use other libraries across the province at no additional cost. Borrowing restrictions do apply to temporary and non-resident members.
